RULES OF CONDUCT:
Baneworld is not a single player game and it
is intended for the enjoyment of all its players. Thus, any action by a player,
which is determined by Snakehead Games Inc., in its sole discretion, to abuse, harass
or otherwise make the game less enjoyable for another player, may be a violation
of our online gaming policy. While Snakehead Games Inc. reserves the
right to add, modify or otherwise change any of these rules, here are some rules
and examples that delineate what is considered unacceptable behavior.
1. INATTENTIVE (AFK) SCRIPTING:
Away from keyboard (AFK) Scripting refers to the use of macro recorders and/or programs to simulate your activity while you're not attending the keyboard. "Attending
the keyboard" means you must be able to respond to your surroundings within
the game, and is distinctly different than "sitting at the keyboard doing
other things while your character practices skills.". While the game as a whole is designed to make such tools of limited or no real use, it is expressly forbidden in Baneworld for you to attempt to use such tools for any of your characters in this manner.
2. OBSCENE LANGUAGE:
Baneworld is a game for players of all ages. While we do not expect
everyone to speak like an angel, we will not tolerate language that, in our
discretion, is considered vulgar and/or obscene. This includes its use in casual
and public speech, racial links, or even in a character or guild's name or ranks.
A good rule of thumb would be what one might hear on prime-time television or considered socially acceptable while riding a public transit vehicle.
3. HARASSMENT:
Continual unwarranted verbal harassment, or unprovoked harassment via
character action, is not tolerated. Any player going out of their way to harass
another player through the use of their characters, or the games post boards,
can and will be punished.
4. ABUSE OF GAME BUGS:
It is the responsibility of all Baneworld players to
report all problems, errors, or bugs in the game to the staff
as soon as they are found. The continued used of such is contrary to Snakehead Games Inc. policy as such bugs/errors can damage the enjoyment of the game
for all its players.
Additionally, if you know about a bug or have heard about
a bug and fail to report the bug to the staff, you will be treated no differently
from someone who abuses the bug. Anyone caught abusing a bug may be locked out
of any and all Snakehead Games Inc. products forever.
OTHER POLICY INFORMATION:
1. CHARACTER NAMES:
Disruptive Character Names: Names which are offensive, out of character,
graphic, or otherwise disrupt the game environment are prohibited.
Characters with such names may be subject to name changes
without warning, or even punishment in the case of repeat offenders.
2. EVER-CHANGING WORLD:
Baneworld is a living world where the setting, situations
and even rules change over the course of time. The staff reserves the right
to make any and all adjustments, changes or modifications at any time without
notification or consent of the players. Staff will, however, make every effort
to warn players about major upcoming changes to the game as long as such warning
would not, in the opinion of staff, adversely affect the game.
3. NO RIGHT TO PRIVACY:
There is no right to privacy, constitutional, common law or otherwise,
once you are inside Baneworld. Our admin have the authority and
ability to monitor public and private player conversations as Snakehead Games Inc.,
in its sole discretion, deems necessary for the ongoing running of the game.
However, the admins will not monitor any conversations unless they believe that
the player or players involved in the conversations are engaging in or planning
to engage in unacceptable behavior or if the player has been previously warned
that his/her conversations will be monitored.
4. SALE OF IN-GAME ITEMS USING NON-GAME CURRENCY:
Players verified to be selling or attempting to sell Baneworld resources to other players for currency, PayPal credits or other such non-game currency could potentially be violating the law and/or exposing Baneworld and its player community to the implications thereof. As such, we will take necessary actions, including but not limited to freezing of the accounts in question (both buyer and seller) and blocking the IP addresses of anyone involved in the transactions. This policy is strictly enforced and there are no warnings given.
5. EVEN-HANDED ENFORCEMENT:
Players who have made purchases will be forced to abide by these rules and regulations in exactly the same regard as players who have not made purchases or otherwise supported the game sites. Making purchases from us does not exempt you from the rules. The rules will be applied not withstanding account status.
CHAT AND FORUM RULES:
The following actions are strictly prohibited and may result in temporary suspension of account access (freezing) and/or outright banning of the user account and/or IP address from our games:
1. Impedes or otherwise prohibits communication;
disrupts the discussion including, without limitation, flooding, spams etc.
2. Contains highly explicit or graphic descriptions or accounts
of sexual acts, including but not limited to sexual language of a violent or
threatening nature, directed at another individual or group of individuals,
particularly when unsolicited.
3. Contains vulgarities directed toward another individual
or group.
4. Depicts violence in a gratuitous manner, without journalistic
or artistic merit, primarily intended to agitate or cause emotional distress.
5. Is intended to victimize, harass, degrade or intimidate
an individual or group of individuals on the basis of age, disability, ethnicity,
gender, race, religion or sexual orientation. Hate speech is unacceptable anywhere
on the service.
6. Solicits personal information from a minor (under 18 years
old). Personal information includes full name, home address, home telephone
number, or other identifying information that would enable "offline" contact.
7. Contains or facilitates the transfer of software viruses
or any other computer code, files or programs designed to interrupt, destroy
or limit the functionality of any computer software or hardware or telecommunications
equipment.
8. Contains material that defames, abuses, threatens, promotes,
or instigates physical harm or death to others, or oneself.
9. Is illegal or incites illegal activity, such as instructional
information on how to build a bomb and/or make counterfeit money.
10. Solicits for exchange, sale or purchase of sexually explicit
images, and/or material harmful to minors; including, but not limited to, any
photograph, film, video, or picture or computer generated image or picture (actual
or simulated).
11. Infringes anyone else's intellectual property rights, including,
but not limited to, any copyright, trademark, rights of publicity, rights of
privacy, or other proprietary rights.
12. Attempts to harvest or collect member information, including
screen names.
13. Impersonates or represents any person or entity in an attempt
to deceive, harass or otherwise mislead another member. You may not pretend
to be an employee or representative of Baneworld nor Snakehead Games Inc. family of companies, or affiliates.
14. Attempts to get a password, or other private information
from a user. Remember: Baneworld and/or Snakehead Games Inc. administrators and moderators will NEVER
ask for your password.
15. Links to and/or references content not allowed under these guidelines, in particular links to paid services outside our family of games are immediately actionable; this policy is necessary or SPAM rapidly chokes our games.
